Speed at the Sound of Loneliness
Story about MAW:
When I was about 7 or 8...can't remember...would be about 1968 or 1969. My grandparents (which lived in 6330) campaigned for a certain county commissioner. The polling site was just north of MacArthur on 63rd at a church (still one there). The incumbent county commissioner decided to pave 63rd street on voting day with hot asphalt. Mary Anne was caught on the local news barefooted with scalded asphalt-laden feet voting through the pavement/construction...I call her now a 'Sun Green'
